Missing my Uncle Wawee

Here I am eating some of his good ole sausage. Thinking about him today. He's been gone a little over a year, yet we haven't forgotten about him.

Yay!!

I have been meaning to put this back on my phone to record our lives!!

Busy Day

Let's get today started.  It's somewhat busy, but what keeps me wanting to stay home is the cold, rainy weather and a snuggly little girl who is a little under the weather.  Who wouldn't want to stay snuggled in bed with Miss S??

However, dentist appts for both kiddos await us, along with a lunch date at my parents' house, and then on to giving my uncle a pedicure and manicure.  Then church tonight!

Wowzers!!!

Our kids are growing up so fast.  They're about to be 6 & 8 years old.  Makes me sad, but makes me happy too.  I'm so proud of each of them and what a year 2016 was.

Highlights:
*Sadie asked Jesus into her heart and was baptized in Sammie's pool at her senior apartments by my dad (Poppy).
*Zachary finished1st grade and learned to read.  This was my biggest fear of homeschooling - teaching my kids to read.  I have never taught anyone to read, so it scared me.  However, he's now reading around a 3rd grade level and he's in 2nd grade.
*Sadie started kindergarten and is really enjoying school a lot.  She is doing good with learning all her sounds, we teach phonics, not just memorization.
*Caleb was granted by the court to live in Texas with his dad - HUGE accomplishment!!!
*Les and I purchased land in East Texas and hope to build a little cottage/cabin in the future.  Maybe retire out there someday, who knows!  God does ;)
*We camped a lot last year; which was awesome.  Nothing like waking up out in God's creation, our CREATOR of all this beautiful eye candy.  LOL
*God healed my mom from cancer - AMEN!!!!!!!!!
*Zachary had his first grand mal seizure over the summer; which put me into a crying spree, but I really like his neurologist and I trust in the Great Physician.

So much more, but I'll keep those memories for myself and my family.  <3

Make today a great day in the Lord!!  To God be the Glory!

Unjustice

I was recently, as in today, reminded how people don't really read or just don't look up what they hear.  They believe everything that is said; which is a BIG problem.

The debate, for lack of better terms, is does God or does God NOT give us more than we can handle?

I say," Yes, He does!"  No where in the Bible, or at least that I have found, does it say that God won't give us more than we can handle.  If He doesn't give us more than we can handle; then how do we learn dependence upon God and allowing Him to help us through our difficult times?  He wants to be there and help us through those good AND bad times.

What the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:13 is this," No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.  And God is faithful; He will not let you be TEMPTED beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."  I totally understand this verse and have lived it too.  Do you think it's easy to stay sexually pure until marriage when you're in your middle 20's AND in a world where everything is about sex, whatever feels good just do it, etc.  The world is there to make us stumble and fall into all of Satan's traps.  Anyways, through the times of dating guys, God always gave me outs if something was going to go south..........you know what I mean!  I chose to take the way out, no matter how difficult that was.  There are so many other things, such as, the opportunity to say something nasty, lose a temper, act rudely, etc.  We as people, need to stand up and fight against the Spiritual war that is going on around us.  You might ask yourself," how in the world do I do that?"  It's easy!!!!
  1. Be in prayer at all times - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18," Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstance, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
  2. Meditate on His word at all times - Joshua 1:8," Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful."
In other words, be in direct communication with the Lord, our SAVIOR, night and day.  He's only a prayer a way!  That's the great thing of being a Christian, having direct and open communication with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is active and alive in our lives!!!!!!!!  How cool is that?!  The Spirit form of God, lives in me, you and all who believe.  AMEN!

I don't write this to get on to anyone or make someone feel bad for what they think they know, but to bring to light, the Words of the Bible.

God Bless You!

Pumpkin Carving!!

Today the kids and I carved their pumpkins. Pretty funny bc Sadie was somewhat scared of the inside of the pumpkin....hahaha. I did throw some in her direction and she was not happy about that, but Zachary and I got a good laugh. I finally got her to throw some at me and got her smiley and happy again. She wanted her pumpkin to have a smiley side and a scary side, so I tried. 😃

Zachary did most of his pumpkin with carving the top off, trying to get the seeds out and I helped him carve. That was harder for him. He didn't want to do it at the beginning, but he came around and had a great time.

Here are some of our pictures from today!  This was all done after we finished our school work this morning, followed by a bath to wash pumpkin off!

I love Fall!!!!

Zachary's pumpkin is on the left side and Sadie's is on the right (closest to flower holder).
